The cheapest ways to get 32GB of RAM right now

32GB is the sweet spot for gaming and creative work. Here are the realistic ways to get there without paying the worst prices.

Where prices stand

On 14 October 2026 Tom's Hardware reported that the cheapest 32GB DDR5-6000 kit it could find cost US$449.97. It also found a slower 32GB DDR5-4800 kit from Corsair at US$399, a kit that once sold for about US$80.

Option 1: buy a slightly slower kit

DDR5-6000 is the popular 'sweet spot' speed, which keeps its price high. Slower DDR5 (5200 or 4800) works in the same boards. You give up a little performance in exchange for a lower price, though the gap was only about US$50 in mid-October.

Option 2: look at CPU, motherboard and RAM bundles

Tom's Hardware notes that combo deals 'remain a rare bright spot', with some Newegg bundles saving up to US$358 when memory is bought alongside a motherboard, CPU and SSD.

Option 3: consider a prebuilt PC

The same report says price rises are reaching prebuilt systems more slowly than loose parts. See prebuilt vs DIY.

Option 4: stay on DDR4 if you already have it

If your current board uses DDR4, adding or replacing DDR4 sticks avoids buying a new motherboard as well. DDR4 is not cheap either: TechRadar reported DDR4 prices rose 24% in a single quarter. See DDR4 or DDR5.

Buying used

Used memory can be cheaper. Buy from sellers with a returns policy, check the exact speed and timings on the label photo, and test with your motherboard's memory test or a tool such as MemTest86 as soon as it arrives.
